So what are Google’s Core Web Vitals? Here Google itself tells us that its metrics are mainly related to 3 main things.
They are page responsiveness, page speed, and the page’s visual stability. What these metrics include are:
LCP or Largest Contentful Paint: This is the amount of time the page takes to load up its largest element of content. In other words, it means the time taken by the page to load its Main content. The ideal or Standard LCP is 2.5 seconds or faster. The largest element may include a video, an image, or a large block-like Text Element. It is a very important indicator because this indicator shows that the page is loading. It specifically measures the time that the page requires to respond to the user’s input.
First Input Delay or FID: This is when the user interacts with your page for the first time when the page responds to your interaction. This interaction includes clicking a link, selecting a specific button, or even searching for something. In other words, it means the time taken by a page to become interactive. The standard or ideal FID is less than 100 seconds.
Cumulative Layout Shift or CLS: This is the measure of shifts and movements taking place in a page layout of a page during that page’s loading phase. In simpler terms, the number of unexpected layout movements or shifts of page content has visuals. The ideal or standard measurement is less than 0.1 seconds.
